Basketball Recap: Lee Park Prep Falls to Gaston Day in First Game of Season

Lee Park Prep had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Gaston Day Spartans and fell 77-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since November 12, 2024.

Gavin Fields was a one-man wrecking crew For Gaston Day. as he went 8-for-9 to rack up 19 points and three steals. Those 19 points gave Fields a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffen Simpson, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Gaston Day now has a winning record of 2-1.

Lee Park Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-15 loss against Gaston Christian on the 14th. As for Gaston Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-54 victory against Cannon on the 14th.
