Volleyball Recap: Austin's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

With a playoff win on the line, Austin rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the James Clemens Jets. Winning may never get old, but the Black Bears sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Austin was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-18, 25-10.

Charlie Barnes paced Austin's offense, picking up 15 kills. Barnes got some help from Maggie Jae Marsh and her 36 assists. Marsh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Austin's victory bumped their record up to 41-7. As for James Clemens, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-24.

Austin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Bob Jones on the 16th. James Clemens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
