Soccer Game Preview: Clearfield vs. Bishop Guilfoyle + How To Watch

Clearfield is 0-4 against Bishop Guilfoyle since August of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Bison will venture away from home to take on the Marauders at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Clearfield's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last six contests.

Clearfield barely beat Philipsburg-Osceola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison blew past the Mountaineers 7-0 on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Mia Smith as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Bishop Guilfoyle was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Central 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Bishop Guilfoyle's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Central are ranked 140th).

Clearfield pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matchups. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their record now sits at 11-0.

Clearfield couldn't quite get it done against Bishop Guilfoyle in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
