Baseball Game Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. JC Bermudez Doral Thunder

The NSU University Sharks will face off against the JC Bermudez Doral Thunder at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in NSU University's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while JC Bermudez Doral has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

On Wednesday, NSU University earned a 5-1 win over Westminster Academy.

Tevvy Rabinowitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Christian MacGillivray, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradyn Potter, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, JC Bermudez Doral lost 13-4 to Killian on Wednesday.

JC Bermudez Doral also got a good showing from Ryan Llovet, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Llovet has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Yan Cartaya made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

NSU University has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for JC Bermudez Doral, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

NSU University skirted past JC Bermudez Doral 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
