Bayfield won the last time they faced Piedra Vista and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wolverines walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Bayfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-23.

Evelette Hollibaugh paced Bayfield's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hollibaugh got some help from Avery Shipman and her 44 assists. Hollibaugh also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Vivien Clance, each putting up two.

When it comes to explaining why Piedra Vista lost, don't look at Janessa Montano. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and one assist. Lila Giblette also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Bayfield's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Piedra Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Bayfield has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Montezuma-Cortez on the 7th. As for Piedra Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Miyamura on the 4th.
