Baseball Game Preview: Gaffney Indians vs. Riverside Warriors

For the second straight game, Gaffney will face off against Riverside. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Gaffney turned things around against Riverside on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-3.

Brody Bright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sam Carroll was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Gaffney is 2-1 when Carroll posts one or more home runs, but 6-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Scout Gilfillan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Riverside dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Gaffney, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16.
