Riverside is 6-1 against San Elizario since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverside has three straight victories, San Elizario has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Riverside was fully in charge, breezing past Bowie 57-13. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.

Carlos Rojas III was his usual excellent self, throwing for 207 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 135 yards and one score on only seven carries. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Derek Armendariz, who gained 170 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Riverside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, San Elizario had to suffer through a 54-8 loss at the hands of Irvin.

San Elizario's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Riverside has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 279.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like San Elizario struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 217 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Riverside against San Elizario in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-21 victory. In that contest, the Rangers amassed a halftime lead of 36-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
