Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willows). Everything went their way against the Paradise Bobcats on Thursday as Willows made off with a 15-3 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Honkers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Anthony Quezada made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kellan Ramsey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Clint Girard was another key player, scoring four runs while going 1-for-3.
Willows always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Willows picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Paradise, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
