Soccer Game Preview: Greenville vs. McKinney North

Greenville is 0-4 against McKinney North since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Greenville Lions will head out to take on the McKinney North Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Greenville is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game on Friday. They lost 8-0 to Lovejoy. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while the Leopards are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, McKinney North's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Melissa. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.

McKinney North's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18-1.

Greenville might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from McKinney North when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Greenville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
