Manchester Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt St. Joseph on Tuesday. The Mavericks were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Fighting Irish. Considering the Mavericks have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grant Nixon and Jon Parker Dees did most of the damage at the plate: Nixon scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Dees scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Dees also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Austin, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Manchester Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.1 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Manchester Academy beat the Fighting Irish by a score of 18-0 later that day.
