Basketball Game Preview: Point Loma Pointers vs. Santana Sultans

The Point Loma Pointers and the Santana Sultans will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Point Loma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Santana likes a good challenge.

Point Loma saw some tournament action on Saturday. They put the hurt on Granite Hills with a sharp 66-43 victory. The Pointers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Santana made off with a 46-45 win over Central.

Santana's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-5. As for Point Loma, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Point Loma took their victory against Santana when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 62-41. Will Point Loma repeat their success, or does Santana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
