Basketball Game Preview: Ennis Lions vs. Terrell Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ennis Lions face off against the Terrell Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday... Ennis has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 26.

Ennis is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Midlothian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ennis had to suffer through a 64-27 loss at the hands of Midlothian. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Makenzie Bodine, who posted seven points. Jhazmyne Jackson was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, Terrell took a blow against Crandall on Tuesday, falling 71-41. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ennis will have to contain Aubree Tate as she made an impact in Terrell's last game. She put up ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Markeita Shaw, who had six points.

Terrell's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Ennis, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Ennis barely slipped by Terrell in their previous meeting back in February, winning 44-43. Does Ennis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Terrell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
