Softball Recap: Hoover Tornados vs. Arcadia Apaches
Hoover extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 12-8 in the process. They lost 16-3 to the Arcadia Apaches. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornados of the 22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.
Hoover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Malagon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

On the hitting side, Erin Sum was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arianna Barajas, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coming up, Hoover will take on Muir at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Tornados' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Arcadia, they will face off against Pasadena at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something the Apaches will no doubt try to take advantage of.
