Softball Recap: Wake Prep Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Neuse Christian Academy two weeks ago, Wake Prep Academy came back down to earth. Wake Prep Academy fell just short of the Vance Charter Knights by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Guardians in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Emma Chambers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Emmy Kirby, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Even though they lost, Wake Prep Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Wake Prep Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Vance Charter, their record is now 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Prep Academy will face off against East Wake Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vance Charter, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Franklin Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 9.
