Basketball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. South Plantation Paladins

The Central Rockets will challenge the South Plantation Paladins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.4 points per game this season.

Central is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since January 19, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Everglades out 52-50. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Gators are ranked 192nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Keri Foster was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 15 en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. His afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Dye III, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, South Plantation got the win against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Saturday by a conclusive 52-31. The Paladins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

South Plantation has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
