Baseball Recap: Central Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Longmeadow Lancers by a score of 6-2. This was a revenge game for the Golden Eagles: when they faced off against the Lancers two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Central pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Longmeadow, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against New Bedford on the 13th. As for Longmeadow, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Shrewsbury on the 17th.
