Recap: Monsignor Pace Spartans vs. iMater Charter Knights
With a playoff game on the line, the Monsignor Pace Spartans rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Knights, posting a 93-6 win on the road. Monsignor Pace has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Monsignor Pace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alessandra Bonilla led the charge by scoring 24 points along with two steals. Bonilla has been hot recently, having posted 23 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Catherine Guillaume, who scored 21 points along with two steals and two blocks.
The win was the 11th in a row for Monsignor Pace, bringing their record for this year to 21-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for iMater Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Monsignor Pace will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against North Broward Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Monsignor Pace knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully North Broward Prep likes a good challenge. IMater Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
