Volleyball Recap: Union Colony Prep Takes a Loss

Union Colony Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Flatirons Academy Bison. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bison when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-12.

Aubrey Rodriguez paced Union Colony Prep's offense, picking up five kills. Rodriguez got some help from Stefanie Gonzalez and her eight assists. Finally, Madisyn Jacks kept Union Colony Prep's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Flatirons Academy was led to victory by Tessa Miller and Lexi Richman. Miller had ten digs and five aces, while Richman had five digs, four aces, and one block. Richman is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Union Colony Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Flatirons Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Union Colony Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Flatirons Academy, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Front Range Christian on the 7th.
