Volleyball Recap: Kendall Carlson and Mckenzie Bauer Secure Win for Onalaska

Onalaska had won two straight games and Isabella Eckstein did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Aquinas Blugolds thanks in part to Eckstein, who had 23 assists and 12 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-98) Onalaska actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 13-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Leading Onalaska to victory were Mckenzie Bauer and Kendall Carlson. Bauer had 18 digs and four assists, while Carlson had six kills, four digs, four aces, and two blocks. Those four aces gave Carlson a new career-high.

Onalaska's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Aquinas, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-11 record.

Looking ahead, Onalaska will be taking part in a tournament against Wisconsin Dells at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. After both having extra time off, Aquinas and Holmen will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
