Softball Recap: Catalina Foothills Drops Season-High Score on Sahuaro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catalina Foothills). They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Sahuaro Cougars on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Kailin Habben was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makena Thompson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Catalina Foothills' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Sahuaro, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catalina Foothills will welcome Mica Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbolts will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Sahuaro, they will take on Salpointe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
