Basketball Recap: Ridgewood [Alwood/Cambridge] Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Galva came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], but Roy Sandberg wouldn't allow it. The Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans managed a 69-65 victory over the Galva Wildcats on Saturday thanks in part to Sandberg, who posted 38 points. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Brenden Bolduc, who put up 20 points. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

Galva's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JP Sloan, who went 8-for-20 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Sloan continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Blake Stahl was another key player, going 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points along with six boards and four steals.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. Galva's record is now 20-7.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] has already played their next game, a 72-47 defeat against ROWVA/Williamsfield on the 17th. As for Galva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-50 win against Monmouth United on the 17th.
