Basketball Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaFayette Ramblers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-47 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ridgeland saw an underclassman step up: freshman TJ Foster went 10 of 22 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. The game was Foster's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jamarcus Lewis was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Ridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for LaFayette, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-8 record.

Ridgeland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-83 loss against Gilmer on the 21st. As for LaFayette, they will take on Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th.
