Basketball Game Preview: Ethel Tigers vs. West Lowndes Panthers

Ethel hasn't had much luck against West Lowndes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ethel Tigers face off against the West Lowndes Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Ethel ended up a good deal behind Velma Jackson and lost 45-27.

Meanwhile, West Lowndes had to suffer through a 55-17 loss at the hands of Kosciusko. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Whippets are ranked 56th).

Ethel's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for West Lowndes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Ethel couldn't quite finish off West Lowndes when the teams last played back in November and fell 44-42. Can Ethel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
