Softball Recap: Woodland Victorious

Woodland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lincoln, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Woodland Wolves were the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over the Lincoln Fighting Zebras on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Addy Tetreault spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bria Arrellano, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Emily Rathjen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Woodland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lincoln, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, Woodland and Lincoln will both be playing Churchill County the next time they take the field. Lincoln will head out to face Churchill County at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while Woodland will play them later in the day, at 11:45 a.m.
