It was a Battle of the Birds when Surry Central took on East Henderson on Saturday. Everything went the Surry Central Golden Eagles' way against the East Henderson Eagles as the Surry Central Golden Eagles made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson Wilmoth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
