Volleyball Game Preview: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. Carmel Greyhounds

McCutcheon is 0-3 against Carmel since May of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Mavericks will welcome the Greyhounds at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

McCutcheon took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Lebanon.

McCutcheon easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Carmel faced Indianapolis Bishop Chatard in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. Winning may never get old, but the Greyhounds sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Carmel's got stronger as the match went on, holding Indianapolis Bishop Chatard to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-16.

McCutcheon pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 10-7-1.
