Football Recap: River City Triumphs Behind Punishing Ground Game

River City won the last time they faced Wood and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders walked away with a 21-10 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

River City had a senior duo take command as Amarion Temple rushed for 76 yards and three TDs on only eight carries and Jeremiah Huntley rushed for 125 yards on only ten carries.

River City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

River City's defense made their presence known, laying out Tanner McCottrell three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Salvador Valadez, Bear Barker, and Luke Bennett, who each picked up one sack apiece.

River City now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, River City and Wood will both be playing Pioneer the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
