Basketball Recap: Mildred Comes Up Short

Mildred lost against Frost back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mildred Eagles took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frost Polar Bears. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1264th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 584th).

It was another big night for Brenda Manrriquez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds for Frost. Manrriquez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Curl, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Mildred's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Frost, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Mildred will square off against Wortham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Frost, they will head out to take on Kerens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
