Basketball Game Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Belleview Rattlers

Dunnellon has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Belleview has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Dunnellon Tigers will welcome the Belleview Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dunnellon took on The Rock on Saturday. Dunnellon fell just short of The Rock by a score of 47-45.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joseleen Malave, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Myah Roof, who went 5 for 6 on her way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Dunnellon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Rock only pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Belleview against Lake Weir on Friday as the team secured a 55-11 win. The Rattlers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Belleview's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Dunnellon, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Dunnellon against Belleview when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-16 win. Does Dunnellon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Belleview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
