Basketball Game Preview: Mesquite Wildcats vs. Deer Valley Skyhawks + How To Watch

Mesquite hasn't had much luck against Deer Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Mesquite put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mohave 82-37. The Wildcats pushed the score to 73-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunderbirds cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Deer Valley blew past Coconino, posting a 75-40 win. The Skyhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Deer Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Mesquite, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Mesquite came up short against Deer Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 72-63. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
