Basketball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton lost against Union back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Dayton Bulldogs came up short against the Union Farmers, falling 60-40. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Farmers are ranked 122nd).

When it comes to explaining why Dayton lost, don't look at Lucas Antonio. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Antonio a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Goldman, who posted seven points.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.

Coming up, Dayton will take on Bernards at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
