Basketball Game Preview: Bandys Trojans vs. East Burke Cavaliers

Bandys hasn't had much luck against East Burke recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bandys Trojans will face off against the East Burke Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bandys sitting on three straight victories and East Burke on six.

Bandys is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing West Lincoln: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Bandys blew West Lincoln out of the water with a 56-18 final score. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Bandys found their leader in sophomore Addison Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 36 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Vaughan, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and five steals.

Bandys smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, East Burke earned a 60-52 win over Maiden on Friday.

Bandys' victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for East Burke, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1.

Bandys came up short against East Burke in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 49-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of East Burke's Braelyn Stilwell, who went 7 of 15 en route to 22 points and five steals.
