Volleyball Recap: Brynn Kockelman and Jaryn Houseman Secure Win for Canby

Canby not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0). They blew past the Ortonville Trojans 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-10.

Leading Canby to victory were Jaryn Houseman and Brynn Kockelman. Houseman had 11 digs and five assists, while Kockelman hit 60% for seven kills and 15 assists and nine digs. Those five assists gave Houseman a new career-high.

Canby was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matchups.

Canby's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ortonville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Canby will take on Central Minnesota Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ortonville, they will head out to square off against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
