Baseball Recap: Brunswick Academy Gets the Win

Brunswick Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Amelia Academy Patriots, sneaking past 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Nathan Wells made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ross Reese was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Grayson Newsome also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Brunswick Academy's record now sits at 10-5. As for Amelia Academy, they moved to 7-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
