Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Christian Lions vs. Gulf Buccaneers

Lakeside Christian hasn't had much luck against Gulf recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. Neither Lakeside Christian nor Gulf posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Tuesday, Lakeside Christian came up short against Canterbury and fell 4-1.

Lakeside Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Aguilera Pena, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Gulf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 15-1 to River Ridge.

Gulf's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lakeside Christian, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lakeside Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gulf struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts.
