Baseball Recap: Pottstown Takes a Loss

Pottstown came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Boyertown Bears by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Cole Boyles put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Boyles was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Boyles wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Pallay, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Pottstown's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Boyertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pottstown will host Perkiomen Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boyertown, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Upper Merion Area at 4:00 p.m.
