Preview: Selinsgrove Seals vs. Midd-West Mustangs
Selinsgrove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Midd-West Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Selinsgrove has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 291 points over their last six games.
Selinsgrove put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Montoursville 35-7 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Selinsgrove had established a 21 point advantage.
It was another big night for Tucker Teats, who rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Teats was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Gavin Bastian also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Midd-West, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were outmatched by Central Mountain on the road and fell 42-0.
Selinsgrove's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Shikellamy and 3-6 Central Mountain (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40.3% over those games). As for Midd-West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Selinsgrove against Midd-West in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 58-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Selinsgrove since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
