Baseball Recap: Walhalla Comes Up Short

If Walhalla was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Pickens on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Razorbacks fell just short of the Mountain View Prep Stars by a score of 9-7 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Walhalla saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JACKSON SMITH, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another was RUSH HARVEY, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Walhalla's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mountain View Prep, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Walhalla will take on Crescent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Razorbacks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mountain View Prep, they will head out to square off against Woodruff at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
