Basketball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Centaurus Warriors

The Monarch Coyotes will venture away from home to challenge the Centaurus Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Monarch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 74-32 win over Silver Creek. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Raptors are ranked 207th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Centaurus' way against Skyline on Tuesday as Centaurus made off with a 58-33 victory.

Monarch pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for Centaurus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Monarch beat Centaurus 62-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Will Monarch repeat their success, or does Centaurus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
