Baseball Recap: Scott Central Takes a Loss

Scott Central and North Forrest squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Scott Central had to settle for second. They fell 8-5 to the Eagles. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

M Laster and P Mcgee stepped up to the plate in a big way. Laster got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Mcgee went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Laster is becoming a predictor of Scott Central's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-20 when he doesn't). C Burks was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Scott Central has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for North Forrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

While Scott Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
