Basketball Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Pinnacle Pioneers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Horizon can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 57-28 loss at the hands of the Pinnacle Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Pioneers are ranked eighth).

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Olson, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. Olson is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Paisy Perkins was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.
Pinnacle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Norah Moo out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shishawna Begay, who had 11 points and six steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Horizon and nudges their season record down to 17-10. As for Pinnacle, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5.
Horizon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pinnacle has already played their next matchup (against Catalina Foothills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
