With a playoff win on the line, East Central rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the North Pike Jaguars. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Jaguars on Friday, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Abby Danis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lizzy Kennedy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Breyona Tanner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

East Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

East Central is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for North Pike, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

As of now, neither East Central nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
