Recap: Johnson Atomsmashers vs. Calvary Day Cavaliers
After a string of seven wins, the Johnson Atomsmashers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvary Day. Johnson has struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Destini Gooddine, who scored 32 points along with four steals for Calvary Day. Gooddine has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Jones, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Calvary Day, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Beach the next time they take the court. Calvary Day will host Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Johnson will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
