Volleyball Recap: La Porte Comes Up Short

La Porte lost against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Slicers fell 3-1 to the Saints. While the Slicers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 25-15 in the first set.

La Porte started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Madison Copeland and Kaitlin Wilson, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Evelyn Shirk and her 13 assists. Finally, Wilson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Porte will challenge Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they will face off against Bellmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
