Basketball Recap: Cloquet Triumphs

Cloquet proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 27) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-68 win over the Denfeld Hunters. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lumberjacks have posted since February 10th.

Cloquet's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Denfeld, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloquet will take on Marshall in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday at. As for Denfeld, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against South St. Paul at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Denfeld's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
