Recap: Brentwood War Eagles vs. Briarwood Academy Buccaneers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Brentwood War Eagles can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 21-6 to the Buccaneers. Brentwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brentwood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Baylor Cobb, who threw for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Briarwood Academy was led to victory by Hollis Evans and Charlie Mosley. Evans rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Mosley rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Mosley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Brentwood now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Briarwood Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Brentwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Briarwood Academy will head out on the road to face off against Gatewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gatewood will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
