League recap: Trinity climbs in standings with win

Trinity was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Heart of America. The Celtics vanquished Kingman 24-20 earlier in the week.

Sedgwick extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Independent, 46-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Treyton Devore was the best wideout in the league this week as Inman bested Herington. Devore tallied one reception for 56 yards. Cody Seiler helped Inman's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.

Jared Friesen made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Inman Teutons defeated the Railroaders. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up two sacks.

Josh Miller was the most productive running back in Heart of America this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 285 yards as Inman beat Herington. Tyler Cottam also contributed to the rushing game with 143 yards on the ground.

Zach Fief put up the best numbers through the air as Bennington defeated Washington County. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 155 yards and one touchdown. Fief's favorite target this week was Heath Thornhill, who caught five passes for 51 yards.

Sedgwick's Brylie Ware and Logan Thompson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ware has thrown for 1104 yards this season, while Thompson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 22 catches for 461 yards. Miller from Mike Vernon's team leads the league in rushing with 1178 yards.

The Bulldogs and the Tigers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Bulldogs eventually emerging with a 30-29 victory. Fief ran for 111 yards in the win.
