Baseball Preview: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Waynesville Spartans

The Blanchester Wildcats are on the road again on Monday to play the Waynesville Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Blanchester knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Waynesville likes a good challenge.

Blanchester stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past East Clinton 13-1.

Cole Mueller was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Mueller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive pitching appearances. Mueller was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Caleb Mobley looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Bryce Sipple was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Dick, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Waynesville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans and snuck past 3-1.

Blanchester pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Waynesville, their record is now 6-7.
