Baseball Recap: High Point Christian Academy Cougars vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies
High Point Christian Academy dropped their record down to 19-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Oak Grove Grizzlies by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.
High Point Christian Academy got a good showing from HEATH CRAVER, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. CRAVER has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 14th.
On Oak Grove's side, Mason Crouse looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Kaden Hart was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Oak Grove is 5-1 when Hart posts one or more home runs, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Binkley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
High Point Christian Academy and Oak Grove should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. High Point Christian Academy will square off against Calvary Day School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (41 vs. 186). Meanwhile, Oak Grove (ranked 119th) will meet Asheboro (ranked 294th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
