            Softball Recap: Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts vs. Holy Cross Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Lloyd Memorial fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Holy Cross  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of  4-3. The Juggernauts' defeat continues a  trend for the  squad, making it three in a row.

 Layla Laudick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Lloyd Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Railynn Brown, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. Brown is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played.
Lloyd Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 9-11-1. As for Holy Cross, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8-1.
 Coming up, Lloyd Memorial will square off against Conner at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Holy Cross, they will challenge Newport Central Catholic at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Thoroughbreds have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four matchups.
